Topic Overview
In the two short years since the launch of the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality , a tremendous amount of information has been compiled regarding the availability, recruitment, and retention of teachers for at-risk schools and students.
National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality has compiled much of this information in its inaugural biennial report, America's Challenge: Effective Teachers for At-Risk Schools and Students. On October 11, National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality introduced the biennial report, summarized some of its most important findings, and shared some stories from the fieldwith a focus on teachers of students with special needs. Also included was some never-before-released polling data on teachers in their first year of teaching, collected by the public opinion firm Public Agenda.
