How Can the TQ Center Help?

  • Collaboratively review and revise state equity plans.

  • Work with states to identify the necessary resources and provide support to implement their state equity plan.

  • Help states prepare for the U.S. Department of Education monitoring visits.

  • Work with states to develop data collection systems and protocols to best inform current status, identify challenge areas, and guide efforts related to the equitable distribution of teachers.

  • Identify and disseminate research and information about best practices for recruiting and retaining teachers in hard-to-staff schools and subjects.

  • Assist states in their strategic planning to address the challenge of equitable teacher distribution

Technical Assistance in Action

  • The TQ Center assisted Oklahoma in a review of their equity plan in preparation of U.S. Department of Education monitoring visit.

  • The TQ Center provided Nevada state education staff and the Southwest Comprehensive Center examples of state equitable distribution plans to use as guidance when revising their plan.

  • The TQ Center, with the Delaware Department of Education and the Mid-Atlantic Comprehensive Center, developed interview protocols to study the distribution of teachers in Delaware.

  • The TQ Center convened a panel of experts to present a webcast on the topic of the equitable distribution of teachers.

  • The TQ Center hosted a technical assistance workshop on the equitable distribution of teachers.
